This man turns 35 today. He is the most loving, hard working, funny, crazy, smart man I know. He makes life more fun and puts up with all my quirks without batting an eye. The kiddos adore him more than words can express. He makes sure this gift of life is an adventure and I could not imagine doing it with anyone but him. He really is my everything. Happy Birthday babes!
Who Knew?
I have a confession, I have never used a rug pad. We always had rugs that never slipped, slide or they were in a position that it didn't matter much. Well that all changed with this new rug. You barely bump a piece of furniture and the whole thing would shift. With the kids always running about I knew it was an accident waiting to happen. There was a few close calls for myself while simply walking so when Rug Pad USA asked if I had a need for a pad to review I jumped at the chance.
I asked for something that would not damage the antique floors and that would keep the rug from continually shifting and sliding. They recommended a premium lock felt pad and I could not be more thrilled with the difference it made. It keeps the rug from moving about and I feel so much better knowing that the kiddos are less likely to bite it while playing. Pretty rugs are so not worth potential disaster.
KJ my ever so sweet model shares a peek of the actual pad. It has a bit of loft to it so it makes the rug more soft too. The Mr was especially happy about that one. Our old rug had great thickness and this one was just a bit hard so the little extra the pad gave made the world of difference. This room I can finally say is complete! Well except for the window coverings, but that won't be till next year probably.

Christmas Around the House {part I}
Christmas decorating has been so much fun this year. Well, it is every year, but this year everything feels so new in this house. It has been a bit tricky since this house comes with a lot less surface space than our last, but all my favorites found a spot. My tree collection, added these this year, have been dispersed throughout rather than gathered in all one spot and I rather like it. Our nativity that I thought we lost was found in the move and KJ had the honor of setting it up this year. Our tree that we just bought last year almost didn't fit, but the Mr bent the top down and we added some fluff and now she stands tall and proud. I wanted to make a wreath like the new Martha Stewart magazine cover for over the mantel, but I think that will have to wait till next year. The World Market gingerbread sets are always a hit and these have already been munched on. The last piece on my list is to get a tree skirt. Ours in MIA. I'm not 100% sold on anything and honestly not having a tree skirt is not the end of the world so this may be another if I find it great, but it not there's always next year kind of things.
