I can Bake

Last night I posted this pic on Instagram and thought I would share the recipe. It was given to me years ago by a friend at one of our church/small groups. I still use it today for the very same purpose. It is easy, quick, and tastes ever so good. I try to always have the ingredients on hand, because you never know when a dessert may be needed. They are NOT gluten free by the way, I enjoyed them before I was, but I am sure they could be revised using Cup 4 Cup which I have yet to try. You can get it here and here in bulk.

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups brown sugar

1/2 cup melted butter

2 eggs

1 tsp vanilla

1 1/2 cups of flour

1/2 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp salt {I use sea salt, about 6 turns of the grinder}

approximately: 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips, dark chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, or peanut butter chips. {really I use what I have on hand and I always mix and match, plus I just throw it in and never measure}

Bake Me:

SIDE NOTE: Supposedly you mix the first 4 ingredients in a separate bowl. I bypass this step for less mess and they seem to turn out just the same.

Combine the first 4 ingredients and mix well {I use my kitchenAid that I we received as a wedding gift over 9 years ago. Best gift ever.}. Add the remaining ingredients leaving the chips for last.

Spread into greased 13x9 baking dish.

bake @350 for 18-21 minutes {depending on oven of course}

cool before enjoying.

Meet me in Philadelphia?

Have you met Ashley from Meet me in Philadelphia yet? She has quickly became one of my favorite bloggers. She has inspired me over the years and truly seems kind as can be. She and her Mr have slowly, but surely been fixing up and decorating their home. She recently shared her den make over and I instantly fell in love. So much so that I want to copy every last detail. Ha. Anyhow, today I am guest blogging over on her lovely blog. Hope you go take a gander and then peruse her blog a bit. It won't disappoint!

Good Buys

A few nights ago I was out shopping with a friend/client that I am helping to finish off a guest bedroom for. Their house is AMAZING to say the least! It is a mid century modern that they have slowly, but surely been renovating. The couple is great at all the big stuff like kitchen remodels, but when it comes to committing to the details they are a little at a loss. Thankfully she asked me to come help! Can't wait to share, because I pretty much want to move in already. Anyhow, after going into Target to buy these tables we took a walk around and was head over heels for a few pieces that look way more high end then they really are. Here are a few of my picks...

1: brass table | 2: black pot {which I used in this project} | 3: candleholder | 4: library lamp | 5: black stool | 6: wood side table | 7: bird feeder {could even see it hanging inside with an airplant} | 8: wine rack | 9: coffee mug and bowls {looks so much better in person} | 10: cocktail shaker {wishing I was a drinker/also could not find online}
