I have a dear interior design friend who has moved up north for a bit. She will be back soon so she has continued doing design work here in Birmingham. She came back for a brief visit and she called me up to see if I would like to see a home she just finished up. I jumped at the chance to see her and get to see some of her work. Of course I was sure to bring my camera along. My friend Katrina concentrates mostly on kitchen design, but she ended up doing the whole home after becoming quick friends with the owner. I must say I was rather impressed.
The Mr. of the house travels all over the world for business and seems to have made it a habit of bringing home fabulous lighting. Most people get exotic candy and she gets beauties like this. Ha.
The living room had layers upon layers of pattern and color. I adored the warmth it brought to a rather large space. My favorite aspect is the use of gorgeous wood and stone. Again it added a layer of warmth. I was instantly smitten with the large beams and white washed paneled ceiling.
Did I mention the husband loves to send home gorgeous treasures? Could you imagine.
The copper bath took a bit of convincing for the home owners to agree on, but I could not imagine this space without it. Absolutely stunning.
The outdoor spaces were AMAZING. No detail was overlooked. The outdoor living room may have been my favorite. I could imagine cool nights with the fire going just talking the night away with family and friends.
It was quite a difficult task narrowing down all my pic choices, but I feel as if these give the feel of the whole home. Thank you again Katrina and fabulous home owner for letting me share this gorgeous home here on the blog!

The Architect was Joe Ellis of Dwelling Architecture. LOVE their work.
