I rather like keeping my Christmas decor quite simple, but at the same time I want to make sure it is fun for the kiddos so I make sure there is a lot of sparkle. Last year was my first time to host Christmas dinner for my family and I can't wait to do it again! This year I went with a more rustic looking table.
Our tree is a bit whimsical. I have an affinity for acorn ornaments and I now have a small collection that I hope grows over the years. As for the funny looking ornaments, they are Krinkles. They are a little on the expensive side, but I figure we will have them forever. Every year I get the kiddos a new Krinkles and when they grow up and move out I hope they will get a kick out having their tree decked out in these. If not then my grand babies will think I have one fun tree.
The nutcrackers were given to me by my grandmother when I was just a girl. I love pulling them out every year and tell stories of her to KJ and Ellie Virginia, who is also her namesake.
I like for every room to have a little something. The beads are the one's I strung. I may keep these up year round though.
The kiddos were more than excited when I put the sparkly trees in their room.
The beads around the door I also strung. It was such a fun and easy project for Ellie and I to work on together. I may add a few more little touches and I still need to share the outside, but today it is cold and rainy so maybe next week.
*I did consider sharing all sources, but thought they may take awhile. If you would like to know certain items then I will be more than happy to share. Just ask in the comments and I will be sure to answer there too.
