As I was laying in bed... Again. I was enjoying the light flickering into our new bedroom/old office. I then remembered my new squarespace upgrade has blogging from a phone quite easy so here is a snippet of the new bedroom. The art stayed since the new office has no wall space left. The buffet came from the old house and has finally found a home here. The shelf below holds the Mr's shoes. The brass pot was a thrift store find. What I like most though is the buffet now gives me a place to hold family photos that I had packed away. I borrowed the pillow from Ellie to see if I wanted to add some color to the space and now I don't want to give it back! The blinds are broken and came with the rental. I'm trying to live with it for a bit till I have an aha budget friendly moment. The more we have been living with the cheap blinds the more I don't hate them though. Of course new ones would be in order and it may just be all the meds talking. This is also where I thought the shorter curtains could work (see yesterday's post). We have the bed in front of identical double windows and although I love light maybe I don't love it too much at night with all the close houses around. Having the curtains short would keep them functional. As in I can open them during the day and actually shut them at night. Ideas? Thoughts? Am I crazy?
mixing it up
Big house changes happened here at casa coldiron over the weekend. The function of our bedroom and office just was not working no matter how hard I tried. With very little storage and my need for things to be organized and everything have a place was making the current set up not functional. All that to say we ended up switching the office and bedroom. The office now serves as not only a place for me to work, but also my closet thanks to a couple of pax wardrobes. No more rolling rack and laundry basket living for me! The bedroom is now free of clutter which is so important to us. It's a peaceful place once again. I guess one huge perk of living in a 1931 home is that there is no such thing as a master suite so we have the opportunity of mixing it up however we see fit. Hoping to share pictures later this week, but for now here is our office inspirational board...

where I live...
I was hoping to have the office completed before Thanksgiving. I now have a new goal to get it completed before Christmas, but if I'm honest to myself it may not happen till the new year. I can dream though! I did make a step of progress though and had prints made for our ribba frames. They are huge and I love them. The pic of the kiddos just makes me smile. It shows their personality fully. Ellie sweet as can be and KJ being a wild hair. The New York pic was from last years trip and it just holds so many good memories for us. The desk is a mess per usual. It drives the Mr mad. I just can't seem to keep it straight no matter how hard I try. Oh, and the desk is new! It's actually a dining table from West Elm and I could not love it anymore. I can't seem to find it online, but I'll share a better pic soon so you can see the metal legs. Can't believe it took us so many years to invest in one. This is after all where I pretty much live.
