Outfit to Room...

I thought it was that time again to do another outfit to room. It's been much too long really. I thought this little diddy looked ever so perfect for spring...

Outfit to entry way...

I rather like this little table, but...

I would add these pretty little knobs instead.

A lovely lamp of course.

Wouldn't this gorgeous arrangement make you smile every time you passed it by?
On the second little self I would add a few of my favorite design books then let this little sphere sit on top.

A mirror or three would work quite nicely, especially when they are as pretty as these.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend!

KERATIN

After much thought and years of bad summer hair days I decided to get the Keratin Smoothing Treatment. It's definitely not cheap, but I saved for a bit and with my sweet husbands help I took the plunge. My hair after having babies was part curly, part wavy, and part straight with tons of frizz which only leaves me resembling a bell during the summer. During the winter months it's fine. I let it air dry and take a curling iron to all the crazy parts, but it works and I rather like it. The process took about 3 hours and I left the salon looking like this...

Poker straight and softer than it has ever been. I liked it, but must admit the lack of body made me a bit nervous. I am quite used to wearing it with volume. I then had to wait three days to wash it. This is after a wash...

A bit more body and by this time it was not such a shock. This was straight out of the shower and a 10 minute blow dry. Unheard of for me. Let's just say I was ecstatic. Fast forward to yesterday and I was used as a hair model for some training at Morgan Ashley Studio (they also did my treatment). My hair was done by a superb stylist for Bumble and Bumble from New York. This is what she rocked out...

Hello body! She cut it into layers with a flat razor throughout and did an arrowhead in the back. Okay so I have no idea what that means, but it sounded cool. I officially feel like one hot mama, ha!

I am hoping the treatment carries me throughout the summer. I am thinking having easy hair could become addicting.

The products that she used for my new do (all by Bumble and Bumble):
Quenching Shampoo
Quenching Conditioner
Quenching Mask
Tonic Lotion
Styling Lotion
Brilliantine

{any Bumble and Bumble reps who may happen to read this I am lacking the mask and brilliantine, just sayin' I would accept them with open arms}

Mother Nature

We have been having the most lovely weather. It makes me want to be outdoors more and more. My go to outfit for right now is a simple tee, comfy shorts, pretty sandals, and of course a gorgeous necklace. As for makeup, what makeup? Sunscreen and chap stick are at the top of my list. I wouldn't mind reading a lovely book chocked full of inspiration while lounging on the porch or maybe doing a mini photo shoot of sweet mother nature. Oh, and when the night finally comes and it's time to come indoors I would sit under this lovely light and just smile.

Tracery Interiors

Tracery Interiors is one of my favorite design firms. Not only is there work absolutely stunning but they are some sweetest people around. They are based here in Birmingham, Al and Rosemary Beach, FL. Doug and I have become friends through this crazy world of blogging and I am always sure to stop in to say hello to Bess when we are at the beach. I was very excited when I found out Doug uploaded some of their work to Houzz. Here are a few of my favorites...

This one is of Doug's living room. Isn't it just gorgeous?

More of there work can be found here, here and here.

9 by Design

I know I posted about their book before, but I could not be more excited about their new show coming out on Bravo. 9 by Design will be airing April 13th at 11 pm. I simply can't wait. It looks wildly fantastic!

They can also be found here.

STUNNING

BEFORE...

AFTER...

After seeing Rachel's bathroom redo on Design Sponge I must say I became quite enthralled with many of her home projects she features on Southern Exposure. She has a background in interior design but is a stay at home mom currently. I suppose that explains her amazing eye for detail. This before and after stopped me in my tracks. The glossy black is stunning, but adding the green and white stripes takes it to a whole new level. Completely stunning. See more of this gorgeous transformation here. Oh, how I would love to recreate this look.

Bird Feeders

It seems here in the south we have completely skipped spring and went straight to summer. That's fine with me though as long as the sun is shining. We have been spending most days outside and I am happy to see that most of my plants are coming bake spite the harsh winter we had. This year I think we will add a bird feeder for all our feathered friends. The first one would go quite nicely with the current Auburn bird house we have.

*And for all of you that asked about my hair, I will have a post about it sometime next week. Pictures and all. It is definitely a complete transformation.

From the Right Bank

Today I am posting over here! I am so excited to share one of my favorite design trends and completely honored Ally would ask me to guest blog on her most fabulous blog. So honored I blushed a bit. Hope you stop over and say hi.

STYLE

Today I am spending the morning at the salon getting this treatment done. I hope to walk out looking a bit like this...

I wonder if the salon also has a stylist? And no, I am not going blond just frizz free and straight. No more mix texture for me, yippee!

I hope you all have a wonderful Easter weekend. I am thankful beyond measure for what Jesus did for me. I believe in a living Savior.

Adding to my Inspiration Folder

I know you all have seen this home throughout blogland, but the first time I saw the full tour was via Flourish Design + Style. By the way Sarah's blog is a daily read of mine. She and I share much of the same style, love that. Anyway, I had to re-post it. I think if we every get to build this will be one of those homes that I show the architect and then I will want to recreate the light and airy feel. There is not a detail I don't love. Oh, and the fabulous photography was done by this brilliant lady who also happens to blog. I love getting to see a few extra photos here. Gorgeous, right? My only wish now is to get my hands on the actual magazine. I love pouring over a good magazine more than the computer screen. It makes it easier for me to study.

FOR YOU

I have parties on my mind. Maybe it's because it's one of my best friends birthday today {Happy Birthday sweet Lauren}. Well, if I were going to a party I would wear this metallic beauty and slide on the perfect pair of flats. I wouldn't need to bring much except a little gloss so this bag should do. I would bring a unique set of bowls wrapped with love and a gift tag that would make it all that extra special. I would enter through a gorgeous entry way that I would secretly wish were mine, but my friend would notice my ring and wish it were her's. I think a trade would be in order.

And no Lauren this is not really your gift, but I think you will love what I got you anyway. I am not really made of money, I just like to dream a little. Although you already knew that.

New Moon

I know I shared my dirty little secret awhile back and found out quite a few of you were in the same boat as I, but I bet you didn't know how far I could go. Well, with the release of New Moon my dear friend Damaris threw a little New Moon party for a few of her dorkiest I mean devoted friends. This was a real treat since I rarely ever do a girls night...

Wolf cupcakes made by Lauren, she's team Jacob and used to work at a bakery...

The party was Tuesday night and I had no time to bake, because of the big kitchen project. This is raspberry chipotle sauce over over fat free cream cheese and wheat thins. An easy and yummy snack. It also reminded me a bit of blood...

Party favors...

We are officially ready for the release of Eclipse now, ha!

3x6

On Tuesday Brooke came over to help me tackle my kitchen backsplash and I could not be more excited about the results. I stuck with a simple 3x6 white subway tile with white grout. The process was much easier than I had expected, but the clean up took much longer. The actual tile job took about 6 hours with only a lunch break in between. Brooke really is my hero. She doesn't have much longer till her due date and she had more stamina than I do on my best day. I really could not have done this without her. Well, her and him. He passed out tile like no other...

Sweet Brooke rocking it out. Yes, I did help, but I did stop to take a few pics in between...

The finished product, well besides the outlet covers. That will be happening tonight with the help of the hubbs...

I am so happy!

BRIDALS

In case you didn't know my husband does a bit of photography on the side. I am second shooter on weddings but this is pretty much his baby. This lovely lady is a good friend of ours and he had the pleasure of doing her bridals. Stunning isn't she? Oh, and the dress was her mothers that she had altered into a more modern line, just gorgeous. You can check out more of his work here.

Rikshaw Design

Every once in awhile I go a little crazy and think that I must be pregnant. MUST be. No, we are not trying and yes we have decided that we are done, but still. Anyway while I was lying awake for much too long I started to think of what bedding I would use and of course I picked Rikshaw Design. Oh, and did I mention in my little crazy world I was having twins and then got a little panicky because there is no way we could afford two sets so then I came to the conclusion that surely she would have a sample sale before I gave birth. Anyway, today I am back to reality and decided that it would be quite a miracle if I were pregnant and that I will instead start saving for a cute little tunic that will be coming out this spring. I am so excited!

Today me and this fabulous lady are starting my kitchen back splash! Share the outcome soon.
