Here and There

Life according to my iPhone...

I had the privileged of designing a bridal luncheon. My only guidelines were to keep it simple, elegant, and organic in feel. So that is exactly what I did. Greens cut from a garden in varying off white pots. Disposable bamboo plates and cutlery. Mason jars to drink out of with rose gold straws. The napkins had the sweetest scallop and another touch of rose gold. Of course scattered candle light was a must atop a simple kraft paper runner.

The best part was being able to take home cut greens for around my own home.

A snippet of the corporate design job I've been working on while it was still in process. It's almost done!

chairs | rug and sofa's | coffee table | end table | candle | floor lamp

I've had little time to work on the house so I can only pick and choose what to tackle next. The grossest, but one of the most satisfying tasks of the week was scrubbing out the powder room floors with this nifty little brush. The tile has pores throughout that were caked with grime and the grout was dark with things I probably don't want to think about. On the right you can see the difference of scrubbing out every little pore. Now to find a good sealer. Any recommendations?

My days have been full with a design install, photography editing, and party planning prep for a sweet friend. Pair that with flag football, lacrosse and horseback and this week quickly became a wash. A wonderful wash, but a wash for this ole blog none the less.

- Love the way Dana and her family live in financial freedom. She is such an inspiration.

- This home tour has been leaving me inspired all week.

- I bought lights for the bathroom! They look so good in person. One thing down and many more to go.

- Someone recently asked my favorite scent for my favorite cleaning products. I am a fig girl all the way!

- I have been narrowing down options of images I want to frame. I think the above is a winner from our west coast trip. {we use framebridge for a lot of our framing needs. You can use KELLENJACOB10 for a $10.00 discount if you need framing of your own}

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Mirror, Mirror on the Wall

I had grand ole' plans for this little hall bath when moving in. Paint, fun tile, pedestal sink, new mirror and lights. Let's not forget my idea of covering the off center built in. Now that we have lived here for a bit and after looking at all our to do list I'm thinking this little space may be put on the back burner. Technically it's not THAT bad. Well it is, but I wonder with a few smaller changes if it can be brought back to life. You can see a couple of images down where I actually added a few things that we had around the house to the shelf and I can confidently say I don't hate it. Maybe a good paint job, a deep scrubbing on the grout and new mirror plus lights may help this little bath along. Of course that may lead to a new counter, sink, and faucet, but the actual vanity has good lines so at least there is that. Who knew such a small bath could give me such a run for my money?

I think once I nail down the mirror it will help with the whole direction of the bath. Now just to bite the bullet. Any favorites?
